The NYBA program is a volunteer program and we need coaches to help run our sessions. If you are interested in coaching, please indicate your willingness to volunteer on the registration form or reach out to Drew Szeliga directly. Basketball experience is not a prerequisite and we’d love to have anyone who would like to have fun facilitating the learning of the game.
Coaches will help facilitate drills and skill work for Kindergarten through 2nd grade and teams in 3rd grade and up will need lead coaches to manage weekly games. Coaches will also be responsible for creating practice plans and committing to one weeknight to help run group practices.
Our league cooperative will be conducting coaching clinics in November to help provide a foundation for anyone interested in coaching. Coaches will also have access to online resources that have been created for NYBA to help assist in program planning and development.
